40 bands will come together at Sukuna Park in Suva this Saturday for the Rise Up Fiji appeal concert to help our fellow Fijians affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
FPRA Events Coordinator Seru Serevi said this is a 10‑hour music marathon where people can also expect solo artists, dance groups and overseas based singers performing on stage.
Serevi said songwriter and performer Steven Heatley who left our shores for New Zealand a year ago will also be taking part in the appeal concert.
He said the event will also combine two elements that brings Fijians together which is music and rugby.
Serevi said the Las Vegas Sevens will be shown live on a mega screen at the park so that fans do not miss Fiji’s games.
FPRA is targeting to raise $15,000.
Meanwhile Voqa ni Delai Dokidoki band leader Temo Soko said they are looking forward to the appeal as Koro Island was one of the worst hit areas.
Soko said the band members come from Nasau, Koro – a village that was destroyed by the cyclone.
He is urging people to go to Sukuna Park this Saturday.
