The entry period for the FPRA Music Awards 2016 has been extended to March 18 following the difficulties caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston. So if you’re still working on that music video, finding it challenging to fill the forms, now is the time to get some help.

The FPRAMAs organising team made the change last week after word came from musicians in TCW affected areas of the difficulties they were facing with communication.
The team has extended the entry period by exactly two weeks in the hope that those who were working on completing their entries.
It is also hoped that those working on music videos of songs which were published in the eligibility period will now be able to complete that work.
Seru Serevi, coordinator of the FPRA Music Awards instead directed the team to join the rest of the country in doing what it could to support those affected by TCW.
“This disaster is unlike any other devastation our country has seen. It is only natural that we also help where we can to ensure our brothers and sisters in the industry who live in affected areas, get the support they need from us here in Suva.”
Serevi, who joined a boat load of relief works to Batiki and Nairai island in the Lomaiviti Province this week said the FPRAMAs had started its planning quite early and so a two week delay in the entry period was not going to affect the quality of the show.

“We are very lucky in the music industry that most of our major operations is based in Suva so we can afford to continue our routine and our daily lives. So we will do that but only after first supporting those we can reach with help.”
The FPRA team coordinated a relief concert last week with its FPRAMAs production partner STAGE TECH, the Suva City Council, Digicel, Rosie Tours, the Grand Pacific Hotel , Infinity Events, KPMG and Naiveli & Associates
Entitled the “Rise Up Fiji Concert” and put together inside of 5 working days, the event raised $17,384 to go towards the Prime Minister’s Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.
“This donation is not from us alone, this is from every Fijian who was at the ground. Thank you so much to every individual who donated towards rebuilding the lives of our fellow Fijians who need us at this very time.”
